Coral Hanging Lamp
Expanding on my coral inspired furniture I wanted to implement my coral structure into something more dynamic, something more lively. The coral structure has a sort of dark or gloomy appearance, crossing it with a furniture type with opposite characteristics would result into something interesting; which is why I made the Coral Hanging Lamp.
Process
The process is very similar to the Coral Standing Table, the big difference is the implementation of the lamp and fitting. I went through all the steps of processing the 3D printed parts, but left the two halves of the spheres separate; having to apply the wood clay and paint whilst the sphere was complete would be overly time consuming.
Time which has been committed into making sure the fitting would be secured firm enough to hold the weight of the entire structure.
I chose for multi-color smart led lamps, because the black paint offers a nice base for the different colour combinations.
Like the Standing Coral Table, I made this to present myself at the exposition at de Harmonie Leeuwarden for creative courses at Firda College Leeuwarden.
