I am Mauricio Arsénio, an innovative craftsman also known as maumautic. I specialize in applied art in the form of furniture. The philosophy of maumatic is to recreate natural arts with innovative processes.

 

I developed a love for innovative processes like newer 3D printing techniques but also more natural craftsmanship like woodworking.

 

With my products I'm searching for a middle ground between a good functional piece of furniture and an art object that makes people stare in admiration. They're heavily inspired by nature's beauty; the endless structures, textures, colours and contrasts to be found in nature are being applied to my products using innovative processes to achieve a beautiful synergy between nature, technology and innovation.

Coral formations are one of the structures that fascinate me; they're all very different from each other, yet they're all coral. A bold claim I'd like to make is, just like me, coral formations serve as a symbol of nature's creativity and adaptability. Their power to be extremely functional yet iconically beautiful is exactly what I strive for with maumatic.
